Hong Kong Regulator and Police Uncover Fake Crypto Exchange

Warning: Fraudulent Crypto Platform Exposed

Hong Kong's financial regulatory body, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), in collaboration with local law enforcement, has sounded the alarm about a dubious entity falsely presenting itself as the cryptocurrency exchange MEXC. This warning is part of an effort to clamp down on illegal virtual asset trading platform activities.

Investors Lured into Scams

The SFC shared insights from their investigation, revealing that the fake 'MEXC' duped investors into joining group chats offering deceitful investment advice. The scam led victims to deposit funds into fraudulent websites, imitating cryptocurrency purchases, leading to eventual withdrawal issues after supposedly investing their money.

MEXC Denounces Imposter

Reacting to these developments, the actual MEXC exchange has denied any association with the fraudulent activities, informing the public that its official website remains mexc.com. Despite being one of the prominent exchanges involving millions worldwide, MEXC is determined to clear its name from the shadow cast by these events.
